Kanye West postponed his concert in Marseille after the press found out what the French interior minister wanted to do

Kanye West has announced that he is postponing his concert in Marseille after French media sources said that Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez is looking into ways to prevent the American rapper from performing in France's second-largest city.
The 48-year-old rapper, now known as Ye, wrote on X that he made the decision “after much thought and consideration,” according to Reuters.
Ye was scheduled to perform on June 11 at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille.
Laurent Nuñez is trying to prevent Kanye West from performing in Marseille in June because of anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi remarks he has made in the past, a source close to the minister revealed to AFP on Tuesday.
The mayor of Marseille, Benoit Payan, had said since March that Ye was not welcome to perform in the city.
“I refuse to let Marseille become a stage for those who promote hatred and Nazism without remorse,” he wrote on X on March 4.
Banned by UK and Australia
Earlier this month, Britain banned American rapper Kanye West from traveling to the country to headline London's Wireless Festival in July.
Ye was banned in Australia last July after releasing “Heil Hitler”, a song promoting Nazism. He also advertised a swastika T-shirt for sale on his website.
In January, Ye published a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to apologize for his behavior, which he attributed to an undiagnosed brain injury and untreated bipolar disorder, and retracted earlier expressions of admiration for Adolf Hitler.
The rapper has performed concerts in the US and Mexico City this year.
