In Krasnoyarsk, two brothers, ages 23 and 30, will stand trial for a series of thefts of premium coffee from supermarkets.
The police established that the relatives committed crimes between April and May 2025:
“The defendants drove up to the shops in a taxi and asked the drivers to wait for them until they returned. At the point of sale, they acted separately so as not to attract attention to themselves. The brothers put different types of coffee into a basket, and then put them into bags previously purchased in other stores and walked past the cash register. The relatives did not agree on how much they should take out; the task was to steal as much as possible in order to then receive a large sum of money. After the plan was implemented, the defendants dispersed and separately sold the stolen goods to strangers on the street, and spent the proceeds on their own needs.”
It was established that the youngest of the brothers committed 15 thefts, and the eldest – 7. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 200 thousand rubles.
A criminal case was initiated and investigated against the attackers under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, the sanction of which provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years. Now the defendants are under recognizance not to leave the place and proper behavior. It should be noted that they had previously been convicted of committing property crimes.
