The mystery of the Church in Bucharest with saints, sibyls and philosophers. Here Anton Pann sang in the choir

In the Bucharest of numerous Orthodox churches, there is a rather atypical place of worship, where the image of sibyls, Greek-Roman pagan priestesses, and the image of philosophers from antiquity are placed in a place of honor.

The historical monument still stands today in what was once Mahalaua Sfintilor, near Calea Moșilor, being shaken all day long by the tram that connects St. George's Church to the Outer Market Bridge. Around the edifice, old, ruined buildings remind of a forgotten past.

Read, on B365.ro, about the unexpected connection between the parishioners of the church in Mahalaua Sfintilor and Eritrea, Cumea, Phrygia, Lavina, Sardica, Himeria, Helles, Delphi and Persica, but also with Plato and Aristotle.
