What did Prince George want in Greece? Special mission on the royal yacht, sent on an island for a “specific food”

In the exclusive world of luxury yachting, few things can surprise. Unusual requests, even capricious, are the norm – especially when they come from a future king.

Last month, the Prince and Princess of Wales family sailed in the clear waters of the Ionian Sea, on a discreet vacation among the Greek islands. According to close sources, the eldest son of the couple, Prince George, 12 years old, seems to have had something outside the menu, writes the Daily Mail.

After leaving the island of Kefalonia and heading for Zakynthos, the yacht anchored offshore. From there, an auxiliary boat was sent urgently to the shore, with a clear mission: to buy a specific food product, required by the young prince.

What George's appetite has aroused is not exactly known. The sources did not give details, invoking only that it was “nothing extravagant, just something precise.” A formulation that, in the context of a completely equipped royal cuisine and an experienced chef, raises question marks.

It is hard to imagine that a banal tomato sauce could not be prepared or that the stock of nuggets or ketchup would have been exhausted. It is known that George prefers carbonara spaghetti – a classic, simple recipe. Along with his sister, Charlotte, ten years old, also tastes from Asian preparations, such as curry. All, of course, within the reach of the culinary crew.

However, some voices suggested that George would have wanted a … Big Mac. Zakynthos is one of the few Greek islands where there is a McDonald's – more precisely, in Laganas resort, near the shore. Hence the assumption that the “specific food product” could be a burger.

Contacted by the press, the local manager offered a dry and predictable answer: “It is the company's policy not to disclose information about our customers.”

It is unlikely, however, as such a request – if it existed – to have come with the ascent of the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate has avoided, over time, to expose the children to fast food, a notable difference to William's mother, Princess Diana, who does not hesitate to stop for KFC or hamburgers with her sons.

Also on this holiday, an eyewitness – a 64 -year -old pensioner, Penelope Likoudi – said he saw Kate, Charlotte and Little Louis on the Superiah deck, while swimming near Mavrouna, off the island of Ithaca. Neither William nor George were noticed on board at that time.

According to the British press, the royal family did not land on the islands during the cruise. The reasons invoked: security risks. Instead, they took advantage of a retractable platform mounted at the yacht stern, which turned into a private “beach”, perfect for swimming, paddleboarding and other fun on water.

In conclusion, maybe we will never know what the heart of the young prince craved. But, in a world in which reality frequently meets symbolism, it may be significant that the desire of a royal child has set a boat, in a direction as possible.
