“Cognitive surrender” leads AI users to abandon logical thinking, and people are willing to outsource their thinking to AI. Experiments show that the vast majority of subjects uncritically accept “erroneous” AI answers, and people using erroneous AI are wrong more often and more, but are more confident in themselves and their answers. However, people with higher levels of intelligence are less likely to rely on AI for help.
