VIDEO Resurrection Service from the Romanian Patriarchate. The faithful are called to take light

Thousands of Orthodox believers participate this night in the Resurrection service at the Patriarchal Cathedral in the Capital. The service is officiated by Blessed Father Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

At midnight, Patriarch Daniel will offer the faithful the Holy Light brought today from Jerusalem.

Next, the Holy Liturgy will be performed in the place of worship.

On Sunday, Easter day, starting at 12:00, the faithful will be able to pray at the Vespers of the Lord's Resurrection, also called the Second Resurrection, during which the Gospel will be read.

Orthodox believers are waiting for the most important religious moment of the year: the Resurrection of the Lord. The Resurrection service begins this evening in all Orthodox churches in the country and continues until dawn. Thousands of people are expected to attend the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest.

Services performed on Holy Saturday

On Holy Saturday, April 11, at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, from 10.00 am, the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great, united with Vespers, takes place.

The cathedral will be closed between 13:30-19:30, for the preparations dedicated to the Easter services.

After this interval, the parishioners are expected to participate in the Holy Saturday Canon, officiated from 11:30 p.m.

At 00.00, the Matins of the Resurrection takes place. The priests come out of the altar with the Holy Light and address the call “Come and take the light”.

Next, the Gospel of the Resurrection is read, and the service continues with the Holy Liturgy until the morning.

For the faithful who cannot make it, the services will be broadcast live by Trinitas TV on Youtube and on the Facebook page of Trinitas TV, Basilica News Agency and Radio Trinitas.
