The Strait of Hormuz will open “automatically”. That's what Donald Trump says

US President Donald Trump said on Friday evening that the Strait of Hormuz would open “automatically” and he would not allow transit fees to be charged. The most important thing from his point of view is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Trump presented the situation this way before Saturday's negotiations with Iran in Pakistan during a short conversation with journalists. When asked what his goal was in the negotiations, he replied:
— No nuclear weapons. You know, I think there has already been a regime change, although we have never had such a criterion. But no nuclear weapons is 99%. (success) the president said on the tarmac at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, before flying out to dinner with donors in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Will the Strait of Hormuz open on its own?
When asked whether he also intended to open the Strait of Hormuz, he said “yes, but it will open automatically.”
— The answer is yes, but the strait will open if we just leave, otherwise they won't make any money. So the strait will open – he said.
Trump said he wished Vice President Vance well in the talks in Pakistan and expressed optimism about their quick results.

Trump says he won't allow transit fees
– I think everything will go very quickly, and if not, we will still be able to finish it one way or another – he said.
A moment earlier, the president said that he would restore navigation through Hormuz “one way or another” and declared that will not allow Iran to collect transit fees from ships. He noted, however, that “no one knows” whether Iran actually charges such fees.
