US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that every taxpayer would receive at least PLN 2,000. dollars “dividend” from customs revenues. Only fools, he said, oppose import taxes.

Trump announced his intention in one of a series of entries about the case before the Supreme Court, which will decide whether most of the tariffs he imposed are legal.
“People who oppose tariffs are FOOLS! We are now the richest, most respected country in the world, with virtually zero inflation and a record stock price. 401(k) retirement accounts are at an all-time high. We are taking in trillions of dollars and will soon start paying down our MASSIVE DEBT, $37 TRILLION,” Trump listed. “A dividend of at least $2,000 per person (not including high-income earners!) will be paid to everyone,” he added.
In another entry, he said that the case before the Supreme Court is absurd because other countries impose tariffs on goods from the USA.
“Other countries can impose tariffs on us, but we can't impose tariffs on them??? It's their DREAM!!! Companies are flocking to the USA ONLY BECAUSE OF TARGETS. HAS NOT THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT BEEN INFORMED OF THIS??? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???” – Trump wrote.
The US president has already suggested several times that he is considering paying all taxpayers part of the money collected from customs duties, but so far he has not taken any action on this matter or talked about specifics. In the US Senate, Senator Josh Hawley introduced a bill providing for the refund of $600. to every American, but this project has not yet found support from the party leadership and has not been pursued.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard arguments from the parties during a hearing on the legality of the tariffs imposed by Trump under the IEEPA sanctions law.the text of which does not directly give the president the authority to impose tariffs. The judges seemed to express skepticism about the government's arguments.
This concerns tariffs on almost all countries in the world (including the EU), as well as “punitive” tariffs on goods from India for purchasing Russian crude oil, Brazil for prosecuting former president Jair Bolsonaro, and Canada, Mexico and China for failing to stop fentanyl smuggling. According to Fox Business, the Trump administration collected approximately $200 billion in tariffs this year.
