“I cut it off my fingers with pliers.” A court near Kharkov released a nurse who robbed soldiers in a morgue

The investigation proved that in the spring of 2025, a woman stole phones and jewelry from the bodies of military personnel who were brought in for forensic examination. Then she handed them over to the lender.

The head of the Investigation Department of the National Police of the Kharkov region, Sergei Bolvinov, said that the medical worker took to the buying place, in addition to phones, more than a hundred pieces of jewelry – chains, wedding rings.

“She cut off some of the rings from the fingers of the victims using pliers,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The decision states that the woman admitted guilt, explaining that she wanted to improve her financial situation. The court sentenced her to five years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of two years. She was released in the conference room.

“The imposed punishment, in the opinion of the court, is necessary and sufficient to correct the accused and prevent the commission of new criminal offenses,” the document says.
