Many summer residents are faced with the fact that seedlings stretch out and become like thin strings. However, there is one simple remedy that can change the situation in a matter of days.
We are talking about monopotassium phosphate. It contains approximately 33% potassium and 50% phosphorus. It is these two elements that are responsible for the health of the roots and the strong stem of young plants.
In addition, stocky seedlings become too tough for the blackleg pathogen. Rot clings only to weak seedlings, and after fertilizing with monopotassium phosphate, the stems become like ropes, reports an experienced gardener, author of the channel “At Grandfather Egor’s Dacha” (18+).
How to properly prepare and apply the solution
Dissolve 3 g of monopotassium phosphate in 1 liter of water at room temperature and mix thoroughly. For the first time, water the seedlings with this fertilizer strictly at the roots in damp soil. Then fertilize after 2 weeks.
Foliar feeding
Monopotassium phosphate can be used not only for watering, but also for spraying. To do this, dilute the prepared solution with clean water in a 1:1 ratio. That is, for 1 part fertilizer – 1 part water.
Spray the leaves in the morning or evening when there is no bright sun. This way, nutrients are absorbed even faster, and the seedlings become even stronger and brighter.
