“German money kills.” In Berlin, people wearing Palestinian scarves glued themselves to the asphalt near Rheinmetall

According to police, six participants glued themselves to the road surface near the entrance to the enterprise, and another person glued themselves to the fence. Because of this, the entrance to the plant was completely blocked.

During the rally, protesters chanted: “Deutsche Waffen, deutsches Geld morden mit in aller Welt” (“German weapons, German money are killing people all over the world”), and also called for Rheinmetall to be expelled from Berlin.

About 30 police arrived at the scene, surrounded the area and began unblocking it.

Activists were lifted from the asphalt using a special solution and tools. After identification was established, all detainees were released. Police said overall there were no serious clashes.

An investigation was opened against the activists on suspicion of illegal entry, coercion and resistance to law enforcement officers.

Some participants suffered minor arm injuries and were examined by medics on site.

The newspaper writes that some of the activists were wearing Palestinian scarves, and the participants themselves said that the protest was related to criticism of military supplies and the situation in the Middle East.

The organizers also said they plan to continue protests against the company and Germany's arms export policies.

According to media reports, this group has previously carried out such actions at this plant, including climbing onto the roof and hanging a Palestinian flag.
