In the Krasnoyarsk Territory they plan to reduce the number of abortions to 16% by 2030

The government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory presented forecasts for demographic indicators and a program to increase the birth rate. According to plans, by 2030 the number of abortions in the region should decrease, and the number of newborns should increase.
According to the Prima City publication, in 2024 the Krasnoyarsk Territory became an anti-leader in the number of abortions. 24,687 children were born in the region. There were 169 abortions per thousand women.
According to government forecasts, in 2026 the number of births could reach about 24,585, and the proportion of abortions could drop to 16.5%. By 2030, it is planned to reach 16% and increase the number of newborns to 26,005.
The program to increase the birth rate includes compensation for travel to medical institutions, psychological assistance, IVF under the compulsory medical insurance policy, payment of regional maternity capital, payments to large families, monthly benefits for children from 1.5 to 3 years old and maternity capital for women who gave birth to their first child up to 23 years of age inclusive.
