Donald Trump hit out at “stupid MAGA publicists.” It was about Iran

Trump condemned four far-right columnists and podcasters in a lengthy post on Truth Social.
“I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones have been fighting me for years, especially because they think it's great that Iran, the number one state sponsor of terrorism, has nuclear weapons — because they have one thing in common: low IQs,” Trump began, calling his critics on the right “crazies,” “troublemakers” and “losers.”
“These are stupid people, they know it, their families know it and everyone else knows it too,” he noted. The president said that despite positioning himself as the voice of the MAGA movement, his critics do not reflect the views of the movement that he embodies.
Criticizing Candace Owens, an influencer popular on the far right, Trump said that, contrary to Owens' claims, the wife of French President Brigitte Macron is not a man and expressed hope that the Macrons – who filed a lawsuit against her in a US court – would win a large sum of money.
“Actually, for me the First Lady of France is a much more beautiful woman than Candace,” he added.
Right-wing journalists are critical of the war with Iran
All four of the columnists mentioned by Trump are his former supporters who sharply criticize the war against Iran. The most famous of them, former Fox News columnist Tucker Carlson – a personal friend of Vice President JD Vance – was one of the speakers at the Republican general election convention. In the weeks leading up to the attack on Iran, Carlson met with Trump at least once at the White House to try to dissuade him.
The war with Iran is heavily criticized by the anti-interventionist wing of the MAGA movement – including former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene – but polls show they represent a small part of the movement associated with President Trump. According to a study by Quinnipiac University, 85 percent support the war. Republican voters, although all voters (53%) are against it. Polls show that despite the split in the MAGA political movement, Trump's actions in Iran enjoy the greatest support among the electorate calling themselves MAGA Republicans.
