“10 days ago we were together”

Florin Tănase was present, along with the entire team of the FCSB champion, at the farewell ceremony of the most famous Romanian coach, Mircea Lucescu, who passed away on Tuesday, April 7, at the age of 80.
The midfielder spoke about his close relationship with the former coach and the impact he had on him, both professionally and personally.

The “decarul” of the red-blues lit a candle and, together with his colleagues, laid a wreath from the team. Visibly affected, Tănase spoke about the last moments he spent with Mircea Lucescu and about the advice he received from him.
“10 days ago we were together, we were preparing the next match. He was a wonderful character, always pushing you to grow. These are very difficult days for everyone.
We remain with the great honor of having met him and with his advice, which he offered us every day.”

Born in 1945, Mircea Lucescu took his first steps in football at Dinamo Bucharest, a team with which he spent most of his career. He also performed at Știința Bucharest and Corvinul Hunedoara.

As a player, he won 7 championship titles and a Romanian Cup, all with Dinamo.

Throughout his coaching career, he trained Corvinul, the Romanian national team, Dinamo, Pisa, Brescia, Reggiana, Rapid, Inter, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, Shakhtior, Zenit, the Turkish national team and Dinamo Kiev.

He won 36 trophies in his career as a technician: 9 times the championship of Ukraine, 8 times the Ukrainian Cup, 7 times the Ukrainian Supercup, 3 times the Romanian Cup, 2 times the Romanian championship, 2 times the Turkish championship, as well as the UEFA Cup, the European Super Cup, the Russian Super Cup and the Anglo-Italian Cup.
