“Coalition of the Volunteers” convens a meeting before the departure of President Zelanski to the USA
Conversations, scheduled for 15 Polish time, they will take place after the Friday meeting of US President Donald Trump with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska and before the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski in Washington.
On Saturday, Zelanski announced that at the invitation of Trump he would visit Washington on Monday, where he would talk about initiatives to end the war. He also expressed support for the three-sided meeting of Ukraine-American-Russia.
According to the Elysean Palace, the meeting will be chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer. The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will also take part in it – said the spokeswoman of the EC Arianna Podesta.
The leaders of the coalitions willing before Trump's meeting with Putin emphasized that Ukraine must receive “solid and reliable” security guarantees to effectively defend its sovereignty. “The coalition of the willing is ready to play an active role here,” they assured a statement on Wednesday.
The “Coalition of the Volunteers” was established on March 2 on the initiative of Starmer in order to develop a comprehensive support plan for Ukraine, ensure its permanent weapon supplies and taking action to end the Russian invasion. It includes 33 states.
