Senator of the Civic Coalition, Tomasz Lenz, assured in a statement that his son's procedure at the hospital in Aleksandrów Kujawski, which Wirtualna Polska wrote about, took place in compliance with medical procedures. He called the information about the lack of documentation or consent to the procedure untrue.

Wirtualna Polska wrote on Tuesday that there were irregularities at the hospital in Aleksandrów Kujawski when organizing a medical procedure in mid-March that was supposed to be performed for a person from Senator Lenz's immediate family.

The WP article indicated that the procedure of a family member of the KO politician was to take place outside the standard procedure, without formal consent and medical documentation, and without a queue. According to the Polish Army, the head of surgery and an anesthesiologist who were on duty in various departments at that time were to participate in providing medical assistance.

“Due to false information published by Wirtualna Polska, I declare that the material presented does not reflect the actual course of events regarding the health care service provided to my minor son. The procedure was performed in a hospital setting by doctors on duty that day, observing appropriate medical procedures. Due to the nature of the service and the child's safety, it was not possible to perform it in a family doctor's clinic,” wrote Senator Lenz in a statement released to the media.

He added that “the claims about the lack of documentation or lack of consent to the procedure are also false.” “The documentation was prepared and my son left the hospital the same day after 6 p.m., after completing the necessary observation and with the consent of the doctors. What is particularly shocking is the use of the minor child's health to build a sensational media narrative based on anonymous reports and insinuations,” wrote Senator Lenz in a statement.

The director of the District Hospital in Aleksandrów Kujawski, Mariusz Trojanowski, told Polish Radio PiK that an investigation is underway in this case.

– There are still a few arrangements to be made regarding the hearing of the people who took part in this procedure. One of the procedures performed on March 15 in our hospital does not have formal medical documentation – added the director of the facility in an interview with Radio PiK.

Senator Lenz concluded his statement with the information that in the event of “further dissemination of false information violating the personal rights of me and my minor son, I will take appropriate legal action.” (PAP)
