In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, only 62% of demobilized SVO participants are employed

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, only 62% of SVO participants found work after demobilization. This figure was announced at a meeting of the Committee on Health Protection and Social Policy of the Legislative Assembly of the region.

A solution to the problem is proposed by a bill initiated by the regional prosecutor's office. The document assumes the obligation of employers with more than 100 employees to allocate a quota of 1% for the employment of SVO participants. Companies that comply with this requirement will receive government support to reimburse costs. Failure to comply with requirements may result in liability.

During the discussion, Alexander Ratakhin called on his colleagues to carefully consider the difficulties that will arise during the implementation of the law. Vera Oskina clarified the experience of similar initiatives that other entities have. Ilya Zaitsev explained: the analysis shows that regions have different approaches to employers, but there is no need to talk about accumulated experience, everything is at the beginning of the journey. Work on the bill will continue; between readings it is planned to hold consultations with major employers in the region.

Also at the committee in the second reading, deputies supported the bill on providing employers with subsidies from the regional budget when employing citizens who have difficulty finding work, including participants in the SVO.

The head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Ilya Zaitsev, noted: “Our main task is to ensure that the children who have fulfilled their duty and returned home are included in active life. The region will actively help by compensating businesses for part of their employment costs. The issue of excluding hazardous industries from potential employers is being resolved. We will also talk about the necessary retraining at the expense of the regional budget or the employer. It is impossible to approach this issue formally; the children need to be provided with opportunities for professional fulfillment, and everything must be done so that they find themselves in peaceful life.”
