The Minister of Energy Bogdan Ivan stated, at Digi24, that the price of gases next winter will not increase for the population. Ivan made several arguments in support of his words.

“We decided to assume until March 31, 2026, that is, until the end of the cold season, the scheme of capping the gas. The fact that Romgaz, a company with a majority state capital, has managed to develop a lot in the last year, two years, that Transgaz managed to develop its gas transport capacity, it managed to take us to the price, Ivan, quoted by Agerpres.

He stressed that at this moment we are the country of the European Union with the highest amount of gases prepared for winter, stored.

“We exceed 80%, while the European average is 76%, after meeting all the market operators and I have explicitly asked to buy gases, to store them from now on, when the price is a very low one in summer, compared to the risk that in January or February, when we have 3-4 times higher prices, for the end. All the people will pay it.

He reminded that the support schemes for thermal are still valid, which are related to those cities that have their own distribution system of the thermal agent, and that they will continue to have that support scheme of the Ministry of Labor, the people with low incomes, or that it is the heating aid for people who warm up with wood or for gas.

“All the schemes valid this winter remain,” said Bogdan Ivan.
