Russia will send a group of Rospotrebnadzor specialists to the Ugandan capital Kampala to help fight the Ebola fever.
The decision was made at the request of the Ugandan side. Experts will conduct an epidemiological investigation due to the outbreak of the disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and identified cases in the capital of neighboring Uganda. The department will also provide logistical and technical assistance to the Ugandan Ministry of Health.
In 2024, a mobile anti-epidemic laboratory has already been transferred to Uganda. It allows you to quickly diagnose dangerous infections. In 2025, it was used to stop the previous Ebola epidemic. Also, in recent years, Russian specialists have trained more than 80 Ugandan colleagues. The training covered pathogen monitoring, disinfection, laboratory diagnostics and biosafety.
