Donald Trump's ultimatum for Iran. A truce just before time runs out

“Based on conversations with the Prime Minister (of Pakistan – editor's note) Shehbaz Sharif and Marshal Asim Munir, in which they asked me to stop sending destructive forces to Iran this evening, provided that “The Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for a period of two weeks.” — Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He added that the truce will be “mutual” and the reason for his agreement “is the great progress in talks on long-term PEACE” with Iran.
“We have received a 10-point proposal from Iran and we believe it constitutes a practical basis for negotiations. “Almost all of the past issues of dispute have been resolved between the United States and Iran, and the two-week period will allow for the finalization and conclusion of the Agreement.” – said the US president.
Donald Trump's ultimatum. Ceasefire just before time runs out
Earlier on Tuesday, Donald Trump warned that “an entire civilization may die tonight and will never be reborn,” referring to the threat of strikes against Iranian infrastructure. However, he stressed that this was not a scenario he would like and noted that there was still a chance to avoid it. He also added that the deadline for Iran to reach an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz expires at 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Ultimately, the post on Truth Social was published less than an hour and a half before the deadline – 32 minutes after midnight Polish time.
