The Turkish Football Federation issued a statement announcing that all matches in the first league will begin with a moment of silence in memory of Mircea Lucescu, after the death of the most celebrated Romanian coach, who passed away on Tuesday, April 7, at the age of 80.
Mircea Lucescu was the Turkish national team coach for about a year and a half, between August 2017 and February 2019.

The Turkish Football Federation has announced that, in memory of Mircea Lucescu, all first league matches scheduled between April 8 and 13 will begin with a minute's silence and clubs may wear black armbands.
A moment of silence will be observed in memory of Mircea Lucescu.
Due to the passing of Mircea Lucescu, an acclaimed personality of Turkish and world football and former coach of the National Team, as well as the Galatasaray and Beşiktaş teams, a minute's silence will be held before all Super League matches scheduled between April 8 and 13.

Mircea Lucescu took his first steps in football at Dinamo Bucharest, the team with which he has spent most of his career. He also performed at Știința Bucharest and Corvinul Hunedoara.
