Surprise result in tennis: Matteo Berrettini (ATP No. 90) pulled off one of the most dominant wins of his career after beating Daniil Medvedev with an incredible 6-0, 6-0 at the Monte-Carlo Masters.
The Italian needed just 49 minutes to eliminate the world number 10 and advance to the third round.

The game went straight into history: it is the first time that Medvedev has lost a match at the ATP level without winning a set.
Moreover, the Russian didn't even have a game ball on his own serve, being completely dominated from one end to the other. With 27 unforced errors, Medvedev's performance was a nightmare, especially as it was his first match on clay this season.

At the end, Berrettini admitted that it was one of the best developments of his career:
“I think it was one of the best performances of my life. I only missed three balls in the whole match and it's not easy against a player like Daniil. The game plan was perfect and all my weapons worked.
I didn't expect to win 6-0, 6-0, but I stayed focused until the end”, said the Italian, according to atptour.com.
Perfect week for the Italian
Berrettini's form is all the more impressive as he hasn't lost a game in this tournament: in the first round, Roberto Bautista Agut retired at 0-4, and in the second round, Medvedev was crushed with a double 6-0.
For the Italian, this is the first 6-0 doubles win at the ATP level, but also the first success against a Top 10 player in a year.
In the next round, Berrettini will meet the winner of the duel between Joao Fonseca and Arthur Rinderknech.
