Ilie Dumitrescu remembered the “only advice” he gave to the FCSB boss: “Once”

The statement came in the context in which Mirel Rădoi, the coach of Craiova University, was scandalized by the fact that Mircea Lucescu, the Romanian coach, called FCSB's boss to wish him success before the match between Bucharest and Olteni.

Ilie Dumitrescu conveyed the fact that he was called by Gigi Becali to consult with him about the FCSB. The former international mentioned that he was not giving advice to the FCSB boss, but that he suggested to him at one point to bring the physical trainer Thomas Neubert back to the staff.

“Me, some time ago, years ago, Gigi called me and asked me certain things about the team and I didn't tell him. I only spoke to him privately, I said: “Dude, Gigi, I can't give you any advice or tell you about any player, because you have a coach”.

I know what it means to be a coach and have someone talk to you and influence you. So I don't do that. Only once, only one piece of advice did I allow myself to give him, that he should hire another trainer, Thomas Neubert.
