Two girls, 14 and 15 years old, missing data, mocked the resources of the Police: “They evaded identification, so as not to return home”

The Constanța police sounded the alarm on Tuesday, April 7, after two missing 14- and 15-year-old girls deliberately made search operations difficult by hiding from the mobilized teams. Dozens of police officers, computing equipment and means of transport were involved for hours in a time-trial action, aimed at preventing a possible serious situation.
According to the institution, the alert was given on Monday, around 12:30, when the disappearance of the two minors from the municipality of Constanța was reported.
“Constanța police were informed about the voluntary departure of two minors, aged 14 and 15, from Constanța. Given the age-specific vulnerability, a large-scale operation was immediately launched, being alerted and mobilized dozens of policemen from the Constanţa Police, the Territorial Unit for Searching for Missing or Followed Persons, the Mangalia Police, as well as specialists from within the Road Safety, Forensic and Transport Safety Services“, it is stated in a press release from the Constanța Police.
“However, the efforts of the police were deliberately hindered by the wanted persons”
However, the investigation showed that the teenage girls, although aware of the extent of the searches, chose to hide to avoid returning home:
“However, the sustained effort of the police officers was deliberately made more difficult by the wanted persons. From the checks carried out, it emerged that the minors, although aware of the extent of the searches and the presence of police forces in the field, chose to evade identification, hiding with the explicit aim of not returning home. Although the mission ended successfully by finding them and handing them over to their families, in the presence of DGASPC representatives Consent for specialized counseling, this behavior raises serious questions about the understanding of the seriousness of such a situation”.
“The capacity to intervene in real emergencies, where citizens' lives may be in imminent danger, may be affected”
The police emphasize that managing a disappearance case is not just an administrative procedure, but a race against time in which every second counts.
“When vital resources – tens of agents, computing equipment and means of transport – are blocked in a search action for people who are actively avoiding rescue, the capacity to intervene in other real emergencieswhere citizens' lives may be in imminent dangermay be affected. Public safety is a partnership between the authorities and the community, and gestures of defiance of institutional efforts only weaken this balance”, it is also shown in the communique.
“We recommend families to pay more attention to the emotional states of teenagers”
The institution recommends that families seek preventive counseling in order to avoid episodes that may put undue pressure on the intervention teams:
“We appeal to parents, guardians and young people alike for open and responsible communication. It is essential that minors understand that the police is an ally, not an adversary, and unnecessary alerting or hindering search procedures is an act of irresponsibility that can have tragic indirect consequences for others who urgently need our support. We recommend families to pay more attention to the emotional states of adolescents and to seek preventive counseling for to avoid such episodes that, beyond the legal implications, can put the public order system under unjustified pressure”.
