The first drops at the pump after the excise tax cut: standard diesel costs 36 paise less per liter

Diesel prices have fallen since midnight, after the Government decided to reduce the excise duty. Thus, a liter of standard diesel now costs 36 pennies less, including VAT.

At stations in the capital and in big cities, the situation is as follows: at Petrom, standard diesel is 9.93 lei/liter, and premium 10.7 lei/liter.
At Lukoil, standard diesel is 10.38 lei/liter, and premium 10.74 lei/liter, without any discount after excise duty.
MOL displays 10.03 lei/liter for standard and 10.89 lei/liter for premium, and Rompetrol 10.28 lei/liter and 11.09 lei/liter, according to StirileProtv.
President Nicușor Dan met on Monday, April 6, with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, ministers and representatives of OMV Petrom and Rompetrol to analyze the supply of crude oil, in the context of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the cited source, Romania does not face supply difficulties, and the companies in the field purchase fuels at prices aligned with the international market.
However, the President, the Government and partners from the private sector have agreed on a mechanism for continuous communication.
