Tankers from Qatar wanted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran action


Reuters cited a source familiar with the agreement reached last week, under which Iran allowed some ships to pass through the strait. According to this source, both Qatari tankers were on the list of ships that were to be allowed to transit.

Shortly after the start of the US-Iranian attacks on February 28, Iran, as part of retaliatory actions, virtually closed the Strait of Hormuz – one of the most important sea routes in the world. Because in a normal situation it transports about 20 percent. world crude oil, the closing of the strait contributed to a significant increase in the price of this raw material.

A few days ago, however, Iran agreed to allow ships from some countries, including from China, Russia, Iraq, India and Pakistan.
