Newcastle United are looking for reinforcements to face a hellish Premier League and Champions League schedule. In this context, the English set their sights on a promising talent from Brazil: Allan Elias, a 21-year-old left-footed attacking midfielder from Palmeiras.
The footballer has a huge release clause of around £87million, but there is a chance that the deal will be much cheaper for the club. According to ESPN Brazil, the English are pushing for a quick deal in January, taking advantage of the fact that Palmeiras need money to rebuild their squad in 2026.
Newcastle want Allan Elias, the Brazilian compared to Bruno Guimarares and Bernardo Silva
Although the clause is astronomical, Newcastle could take him for much less. Palmeiras recently turned down 17 million pounds, but are expecting offers of around 28 million pounds, which is around 32 million euros.
Allan Elias is quoted at €4 million on Transfermarkt, but the Brazilian press is heralding him as the next big export of the club that gave England Gabriel Jesus and Estevao Willian.
A left-footed attacking midfielder, Elias has been compared to Bruno Guimaraes and Bernardo Silva for the way he dictates the pace and his fine touch, but also to Chelsea's Andrey Santos for his dribbling and spectacular execution.
In 53 games for Palmeiras, Allan Elias has 3 goals and 6 assists.
“Coțofenele” were quite inspired during the mercato period
This summer the club failed to keep hold of Alexander Isak and had to fork out big sums to bring in replacements like Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa.
While some of the sums paid have drawn criticism, there have also been notable successes: Woltemade has adapted quickly and is the club's top scorer this season, and Malick Thiaw looks an inspired signing for just over £30m from AC Milan.
For Newcastle, Elias could be the perfect midfield solution in a season where Eddie Howe's side face an extremely demanding schedule in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
