In Krasnoyarsk, three boys and a girl, 17 and 18 years old, will stand trial for a series of thefts from slot machines located in stores and shopping centers.
The crimes were committed in the summer of 2024; the teenagers made money from toys containing money and gadgets. During operational activities, police officers identified the suspects and detained them.
“It turned out that one of them, born in 2007, during a walk invited his girlfriend and two friends to steal something from the slot machines. They agreed. Then, in different compositions, they carried out their plans 5 times. The attackers entered the trading floor, at the entrance of which there were devices, one of the accomplices used a coin to unlock the door, insert a wire into the hole and throw gadgets or toys to it. The second one was on guard at this time so that their illegal actions would not be noticed. They then took out the fallen goods from the compartment below,” the police said and showed video footage from a surveillance camera.

The total amount of material damage amounted to 20.5 thousand rubles. During the investigation, a portion of 8 thousand rubles was reimbursed to the owner of the slot machines.
A criminal case was opened and investigated against the teenagers under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft by a group of people preliminary conspiracy”, the sanction of which provides for the following types of punishment: fine of up to 200 thousand rubles; or compulsory, corrective or forced labor; or imprisonment for up to 5 years. They are awaiting trial on their own recognizance and proper behavior.
