In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 20-year-old resident of Achinsk will be tried for cruelty to animals.
The police found that in the fall of 2025, a young man, returning home from a morning jog, saw a stray mongrel dog on the street and adopted it. But on the same day the dog relieved himself in the apartment of the Achin resident and he decided to teach the animal a lesson.
“The attacker brought the dog into an abandoned building located next to his house and inflicted multiple punches and kicks on the defenseless dog’s body, causing injuries, including a broken paw. Random passers-by became eyewitnesses to a “life lesson” and reported it to the police. The police patrol crew that arrived at the scene detained the guy, who confessed to his crime.“, – said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the veterinary clinic, the dog was given the necessary assistance and placed in the “Kind Heart” animal shelter. The one-year-old dog quickly found an owner who took him in.
A criminal case was opened and investigated against the young man Part 1 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Cruelty to Animals”, the sanction of which provides for the following types of punishment: a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, compulsory or corrective labor, restriction of freedom, arrest for a term of up to 6 months, or imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years. It is known that the defendant was previously convicted of theft.
