A large family from a village in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory connected to Runet after 32 years

7 April 13:57

On April 7, Russia celebrates the Birthday of the Runet – the day when 32 years ago the first domain name in the .ru zone was registered and the country officially entered the global network.

The landmark date coincided with the start of connecting Rostelecom’s home digital services in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Among the company’s new subscribers is the friendly large family of the Nazarovs from the village of Krivlyak.

Krivlyak is located on the banks of the Yenisei, 600 km from Krasnoyarsk – surrounded by taiga, with a population of about 700 people. The Nazarov family is well known here: the parents work in a kindergarten and school, and run a farm and a vegetable garden. They have four children – from one and a half to 16 years old. The boys go in for sports, the eldest daughter is interested in choreography and needlework, and together they actively participate in the “YUNARMIA” movement. The youngest is just beginning to explore the world.

In 2024-2025, Rostelecom laid hundreds of kilometers of fiber-optic backbone in the north of the region: from Antsiferovo to Bor. The framework of the created digital infrastructure included 14 settlements, including Krivlyak. Thanks to this, local residents for the first time received access to the Internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s, Wink interactive television and cloud video surveillance. The Nazarovs were among the first to apply for connection to the provider’s services.

“Our house is located near the forest. And from spring until late autumn we could not even watch TV through a satellite dish – the foliage interfered with the signal. Now each of the four children watches their own channel in their room, and the little daughter watches her favorite cartoons. When the children are at least a little distracted by the screen, I can do business, and this saves peace in my home,” said Irina Nazarova, a resident of the village of Krivlyak in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

“High-speed Internet allows you not only to have fun, but also to work and study remotely. This means that the residents of Krivlyak can now realize opportunities that were only available to cities. Runet is 32 years old – and finally it has reached our north,” said Alexey Usatov, director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom.
