During the conversation, Sobchak asked Poklonskaya whether
“Is it true that Ukrainians identify Russian spies and intelligence officers by the way they pronounce the word “palyanitsa”?” Sobchak asked, pronouncing the Ukrainian donkey, unpronounceable by Russians, with a noticeable Russian accent.
In response, Poklonskaya became very nervous and explained to the propagandist that we were allegedly talking about an ashtray where cigarette butts were thrown.
“Polenitsa,” she tried to pronounce this word to herself, but “burnt herself” on the pronunciation.
“Polenitsya,” Sobchak repeated trustingly, admitting that with her pronunciation she would “be bought out right away.”
“Well, there is such a thing,” Poklonskaya delicately commented.
Ukrainians on the Threads social network responded to the propagandists’ dialogue with sparkling jokes and memes.
“God, how stupid they are,” responded online.
“That Muscovite jaw. It just made me laugh,” the Ukrainians commented.
“I screwed up, but where,” they say ironically online.
“Well, it’s so stupid that it’s like it’s on purpose,” they wrote in the comments.
Context
Word “Palyanytsya” is a “peculiar password” of the Ukrainian language. French diplomats even learned to pronounce it.
And in order not only to identify Russian spies, but also to effectively destroy them, Ukraine developed and for the first time in August 2024 used a new missile-drone “Palyanytsya”.
