Krasnoyarsk residents were reminded of the rules of toothbrush care

6 April 17:30
Specialists from the regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor reminded Krasnoyarsk residents of the basic rules for caring for a toothbrush.
The department notes that after brushing your teeth, the brush must be thoroughly rinsed. The bristles can retain microscopic particles of toothpaste and plaque, which provide a favorable environment for bacteria to grow, especially in a damp bathroom.
Also, experts do not recommend constantly storing the brush under a protective cap. It is convenient for travel, but creates a mini-greenhouse effect and prevents the bristles from drying out. In such an environment, not only bacteria can grow, but also mold.
Rospotrebnadzor pays special attention to the storage method. Brushes should not touch each other, as this can lead to the transfer of microflora from one family member to another. In addition, experts are sure that hygiene items should be kept in a closed cabinet – away from the toilet.
The regional Office reminds that you need to change your toothbrush at least once every three months. This can be done more often if the bristles are deformed, after infections or professional teeth cleaning.
The department emphasizes that proper toothbrush care is an important part of oral hygiene, the quality of which directly affects the health of teeth and gums.
