“Remember when we gave Iran 10 days to either GET A DEAL OR REOPEN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ? Time is running out – 48 hours before I unleash hell on them. Thank God!” the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform this Easter weekend.

On March 21, Donald Trump issued another ultimatum to Iran, announcing that the United States would destroy Iran's power plants if the Islamic Republic did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic within 48 hours.

If Iran does not TOTALLY, WITHOUT ANY THREAT, reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 HOURS from this very moment, the United States of America will strike and destroy its various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE!“, the American president wrote.

Later, on March 26, the US president announced that he was temporarily suspending plans to destroy Iran's energy facilities, providing a ten-day reprieve for further negotiations between the two sides.
