The agency noted that the throne was made of materials stylized as marble and gold. The sign next to the installation says that this is “a throne fit for a king.”
“At a time of unprecedented division, escalating conflict and economic turmoil, President Trump focused on what really mattered: bathroom remodeling [экспрезидента США Авраама] Lincoln in the White House,” noted below.
The caption also sarcastically states that this is Trump's “highest achievement” and that he is not only a businessman, but “an adamant visionary who looked down, saw a problem and painted it gold.”
White House Speaker Davis Ingle, in a Reuters commentary on the throne installation, noted that Trump wants to make the White House and the US capital “more beautiful than ever.” He emphasized that the president continues to work in the interests of Americans and fulfill the promises for which he received the support of the majority of voters.
The Washington Post wrote that the throne was installed by the partisan art group Secret Handshake (“secret handshake”). Its name is written on a roll of toilet paper near the object. Over the past 16 months, the organization has installed about a dozen statues or other works on the National Mall critical of Trump and his followers, including a satirical statue of the current White House president alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the newspaper said.
