In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police opened a criminal case against a resident of Kansk, suspected of fictitiously registering five migrants.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, in the fall of 2025, an acquaintance asked the woman to register residents of Uzbekistan in an apartment she owned in the private sector. The man worked in a brigade together with migrants, so he decided to help them “legitimize” their presence on Russian territory. Otherwise, the work crew would break up, which would affect his salary.
“The woman responded to the request and, free of charge, fictitiously registered 5 men aged 45 to 48 years at their place of residence. In fact, she did not intend to provide housing, so she submitted documents to the migration department of the Kansky Department of Internal Affairs containing false information about the presence of foreign citizens at the address she indicated. By her illegal actions, the defendant deprived the department of fully exercising migration control over arriving citizens from the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the regional police clarified.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Art. 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fictitious registration of a foreign citizen at the place of stay in the Russian Federation.” The suspect faces up to 5 years in prison.
Currently, the woman is under recognizance not to leave the place and of proper behavior.
