Zendaya has revealed how Tom Holland won her over almost a decade ago

Zendaya and Tom Holland are one of Hollywood's most popular couples among fans, and the American actress and singer says that her British partner won her over since they first met almost a decade ago with his style, reports Variety.

“I knew he was the one for me because I don't feel emotional around him,” Zendaya said in an interview with The New York Times' “Modern Love” podcast. “I feel very peaceful and calm, and I feel like, 'oh, I'm more emotional when I'm away from you than when I'm with you,'” she explained.

Zendaya said she “first met” Holland at an audition for a role, “so I was already pretty nervous, but he put me at ease… Just being a nice person, you know? Making me feel at ease.”

“I mean, it's like when you have to audition to see if you fit with someone for a big movie like that. It's like, you really want the part and all that stuff. And yeah, it was really cute then,” the 29-year-old actress shared.

And the audition in question was for 2017's “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” in which Holland, now 29, starred in his first major Marvel production as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Zendaya debuted in the franchise as MJ.

Zendaya and Holland will be seen in two new movies this year

The two reprized their roles in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021). All 3 were major box office hits, and the last of them became in 2021 the first film to cross the $1 billion mark after the COVID-19 pandemic led to repeated theater closures.

“I feel like I'm biased because I've had the chance to grow up with the person that I love and have known since we were literally teenagers until now,” Zendaya said in the new interview about working with and knowing Holland for nearly a decade.

“So it's normal to change and evolve, life is what it is, but I still feel like there's a bond or a connection that makes you feel like you know someone, at least enough to feel safe with them,” she added.

The two will be seen together again on the big screen this summer in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan's epic based on Homer's classic poem. The new movie “Spiderman” will premiere in cinemas on July 31, while “Odyssey” will be available in cinemas from July 17, according to Cinemagia.ro.

Both are considered among the most anticipated films of this year.
