
In addition, the prosecution announced a civil claim for UAH 15 million for compensation for moral damage caused by the death of Parubiy. According to the victims’ lawyer Yuriy Zoshiy, the amount of the claim is justified by Parubiy’s contribution to the political and cultural life of Ukraine.
“Accused Scelnikov as the father of the deceased [бойца 93-й ОМБр ВСУ Михаила-Виктора ] Scelnikova received the right to receive a one-time cash benefit in connection with the death of his son in the amount of 50% of that assistance. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine determined that the size of such half is UAH 15 million. Consequently, his share is exactly half – UAH 7.5 million,” Zoshy said.
At the same time, the accused stated that he does not claim a one-time benefit for the death of his son.
“I vowed to take revenge – I took revenge. And I was not interested in money at all,” Scelnikov commented.
According to Judge Alexander Velichko, the consideration of the case is essentially planned to begin on April 27.
