Steaua beats Chindia with two superb goals! Ilie Poenaru had two eliminated

Steaua controlled the first half and scored the first time through Drăghici in the 38th minute: the “military” midfielder scored superbly, with a shot from the box line. After just three minutes, Chindia remained in 10 after Daniel Florea elbowed Huszti in the face.

Coming out of the booths, Ilie Poenaru's men started to look much more dangerous in attack, but all their progress was halted by Rubio's 63rd-minute backheel goal and second dismissal. Mboumbouni received his second yellow in the 73rd minute and left his side in nine.

The duel had strong implications for the battle for the play-offs: the two teams were tied on points before the start of the game. Steaua consolidated its fourth position, while Chindia remains behind in the fight for promotion, only in 6th place.
