In Russia in 2026, the majority of taxi companies saw their revenues and profits decline amid worsening working conditions. Kommersant writes about this.

“According to the results of a survey conducted in May 2026 by the National Taxi Council, the majority of taxi market participants report a sharp deterioration in financial and operational performance. Of the 100 taxi companies surveyed, 81% reported a decrease in revenue, 90% reported a drop in net profit, 60% reported an increase in accounts payable, and 69% reported an increase in the tax burden,” the publication notes.

The head of the NEXT taxi fleet, Evgeny Ermolaev, told the publication that the industry is operating in the worst conditions in its history, which it has not encountered even during a pandemic. The Maxim taxi ordering service stated that the capital costs of taxi drivers have increased 2-3 times in recent years due to a significant increase in the price of cars.
