A well-known NBA player, arrested for possession of prohibited substances and dangerous driving

Brandon Clarke (29), Memphis Grizzlies player, is in serious trouble with the law after being arrested in the state of Arkansas, United States of America.
He is charged with a number of offences, including possession and distribution of prohibited substances, dangerous driving and attempting to escape by vehicle, according to local media reports.

The NBA star was arrested by the Cross County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday at 1:03 p.m. local time. Local police authorities have not released further details about the case, saying they are unable to provide additional information at this time.
Ahead of the Grizzlies' game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, head coach Tuomas Iisalo said: “I am aware of what happened, but I have no comment”according to the aforementioned source.
Clarke's arrest comes at a difficult time for him as he is already on the sidelines with a calf injury. The player had suffered a muscle injury and although his recovery was progressing, recent medical examinations showed that he needed more time to fully recover.

The former Gonzaga Bulldog missed the first 26 games of the 2025-26 NBA season while recovering from offseason right knee surgery. He played just two games in December before suffering a sprained right calf.
Clarke averaged 4.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in his two appearances for the Grizzlies this season.
Without Brandon Clarke on the court, the Memphis Grizzlies lost their most recent NBA game, 119-130 to the New York Knicks. Following the result, the arrested player's team ranks 12th (out of 15) in the NBA's Western Conference.
