Nuclear deal in Poland. Three companies join forces

As part of the agreement, the companies plan to establish working teams that will analyze potential projects in the region. Joint activities will include assessing the competences and organizational capabilities of partners in the context of implementing nuclear investments. As emphasized, the cooperation also aims to build an effective supply chain for SMR projects in Poland and neighboring countries.

The parties intend to work together on an investment based on the BWRX-300 technology developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy.
Upon learning of the agreement, the shares of Polimex Mostostal SA increased by approximately 7%.

Companies that will cooperate on SMRs
Polimex Mostostal SA heads one of the largest engineering and construction groups in Poland, implementing complex industrial, energy and infrastructure projects. Through specialized subsidiaries, it offers comprehensive services including the production of steel structures, modular elements and industrial installations, as well as assembly and implementation of construction works.

SGE is a European small modular reactor (SMR) development platform, founded in 2019, headquartered in Warsaw. The company is a co-investor in a standardized project of the most commercially advanced SMR technology in the world – the BWRX-300 reactor, developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy. SGE currently develops partnerships and projects in over half a dozen European countries. Its flagship project is a project implemented in Poland, where, in cooperation with Orlen, work is carried out in three locations, and the launch of the first unit is planned for 2032.
