Divnogorsk was convicted of selling a non-existent motorcycle

1 April 13:01

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a court found a resident of Divnogorsk guilty of fraud with causing significant damage to a citizen when selling a motorcycle.

The crime was committed in December 2024. The young man found a photo of someone else’s bike on the Internet, passed it off as his own, and posted an advertisement for sale on a specialized website.

“The sweet spot for the buyer was not only the attractive price, but also the tempting consumer properties of the “iron horse”. A resident of Gorno-Altaisk fell for the bait – he remotely agreed on a deal and transferred 180 thousand rubles to the man’s account. Immediately after receiving the money, the seller “evaporated” and stopped communicating. And the defrauded buyer went to law enforcement officers and the identity of the attacker was quickly established,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Divnogorets, who had previously been prosecuted for property crimes, admitted guilt and promised to return the money. According to Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court sentenced him to 3 years in a penal colony.
