The key rate of the Central Bank can decrease to 10-11 % by 2026. Such a forecast was given by the Doctor of Economics and Professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Varyash.
“Indeed, by the end of the year and especially at the beginning of 2026, the key rate of the Central Bank may begin to decline gradually. And by the end of 2026, it can reach a level of 10-11%. Production inflation and inflation in the consumer market will be reduced by a driving pace with respect to a decrease in the key rate, ”the North Press publication quotes the economist with reference to Sputnik radio.
Nevertheless, Igor Varyash noted that in the near future it is not worth waiting for a reduction in the rate, since the Central Bank at the last meeting has already lowered it to 100 basic points. The expert clarified that by banking standards this is a lot.
