VIDEO. The US hit Iran with “bunker buster” bombs. Heavy explosions in Isfahan and Tehran

An Iranian news station on Tuesday reported “preliminary” information on attacks that targeted “military targets” in central Iran, stating that the extent of the damage and the possible number of victims were not known, writes AFP.
“Initial information indicates that military targets in Isfahan were targeted,” Akbar Salehi, a security official at the provincial governor's office, was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the US military launched “bunker buster” bombs (anti-bunker, used to penetrate fortified underground structures) The US target was an Iranian ammunition depot.
A US official told the WSJ that US forces hit the site in the city of Isfahan with more than 900 kg of armor-piercing ammunition.
US President Donald Trump said on social media on Monday that the US would destroy Iranian energy facilities if talks with a “new and more reasonable regime” did not lead to a deal and the reopening of the waterway.
On Monday evening, he published on the Truth Social network images of some explosions, without saying where and when they took place.
Al Jazeera released overnight footage it said was taken by a witness showing explosions and fires lighting up the sky after intense US and Israeli attacks on Isfahan, a city of 2.3 million that is home to the Badr military air base.
The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, and General Dan Caine, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will hold a press conference on the military operation in Iran at 16:00 Romanian time.
Explosions in Tehran
Several explosions also rocked Tehran on Tuesday, with news agencies reporting power outages in certain areas of the Iranian capital, according to France24.
France TV's Tehran correspondent Reza Sayah reported that residents heard “airstrikes, followed by the terrifying sound of loud explosions, and we are witnessing events that worry and anger many Iranians for the second day in a row,” noting that the airstrikes had caused power outages in some areas of Tehran since Sunday, before authorities were able to restore power to some neighborhoods.
“Here's another worrying trend: almost every day non-military targets are being hit. Civilians are being injured or killed. Residential neighborhoods are being hit,” says Sayah. “Iran is retaliating. They are targeting industrial centers in the region, including factories in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates and industrial targets in Israel. So a very worrying cycle of violence continues,” according to the France24 correspondent.
