Apocalyptic footage straight from South Korea. The fire destroyed 3,000 hectares of land, 1,500 people were left homeless, 15 villages were deserted – residents are waiting for their houses to burn down.
There are currently 27 fires in the disaster. At least four people were killed and six more were injured. The fires started on Friday in Sancheon County, 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul. Due to strong winds, the fire quickly spread to other areas.
According to the Yonhap news agency, Uiseong County suffered the most. More than 1,000 hectares of land burned there. In the same district is the ancient Unramsa Temple of the Silla Dynasty. It burned out. Fortunately, the monks managed to save the artifacts.
