— We have a war situation, an emergency. This is nothing that Poland or the Polish government did. We suffer the consequences. We need to act exceptionally, but this is not a solution that we can always have – we will now regulate prices – she said on Radio ZET.

The politician emphasized that current actions, such as reducing taxes or regulating fuel prices, should be temporary. — I think it's a bridging solution. Prices are down for today, and the systemic solution is a tax on excess profits for fuel companies. This is the idea of Poland 2050 – she pointed out.
The Minister of Funds turned to Andrzej Domański
According to the minister, the mechanism should operate in a simple way: companies making above-average profits during the crisis would be subject to additional taxation.
— Fuel companies that start earning too much on war margins will then have their margins cut by such a tax — she explained.
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz noted that although the Prime Minister's speech included suggestions that do not rule out such a solution, specific talks in the government have not yet taken place. — But I am ready to talk to min. Domański broadly about tax matters – she declared.

The head of Poland 2050 also pointed to the need to reform the tax system, including: raising the second tax threshold.
— Increasing the tax threshold is what we are entering as Poland 2050. The first step is as much as we can afford. From a lump sum, digital tax. Raising the second tax threshold so that middle-class people do not fall into the second threshold, she said.
However, she noted that the implementation of these plans requires an agreement within the ruling coalition. — There has been no conversation so far. It would have to be convened by the Prime Minister or Minister Domański. I would expect it, she added, announcing the possibility of submitting bills as a parliamentary initiative.
Referring to the proposal reducing VAT on food, the minister was skeptical. — At the moment, no. There are more important tax changes that should be made, and I am a responsible person and I will not tell anyone that the budget is made of rubber. – she emphasized.
