At the beginning of 2026, the number of residents of greater Krasnoyarsk amounted to 1 million 259 thousand people. The mayor announced this on his social networks.
Sergei Vereshchagin noted that the population growth occurred not only due to spatial changes in the district:
“Within the old borders, there were about 5,600 more townspeople. But, of course, new territories were added – almost 41 thousand. The increase in population is an indicative trend in residents’ assessment of the city’s development and its prospects.”
Let us remind you that Krasnoyarsk became a million-plus city in 2012.
