After reaching the “eights” at the Miami Open, Sorana Cîrstea (35 years old) climbed from the 35th place to the 29th place in the WTA ranking. The Romanian left the tournament after being eliminated by Coco Gauff (22 years old, #3 WTA), score 4-6, 6-3, 2-6. The player from the United States would reach the final of the tournament, which she lost to the world leader Aryna Sabalenka (27 years old), score 2-6, 6-4, 3-6.
