The Japanese Sorato Shimizu, just 16, has set a new world record in the 100 -meter test, exceeding the best time ever made by an athlete under 18 years.
Already a sensation of the Sprint at 16 years old, Sorato Shimizu shot down USain Bolt's record at 100 meters at the same ageand qualified for the World Championship. The performance of the young star is all the more important as he qualified for a major event while he is still a student.
Sorato Shimizu ran 100 meters in just 10 seconds in an athletics competition in Hiroshima, according to Thesun.co.uk.
Usain Bolt's record from the same age has been shot down
Shimizu obtained the remarkable result in a championship between high schools.
The time obtained places him in fifth place in the all-time ranking of Japanese athletes. He also now holds the national record of Japan in the high school category. The previous record, of 10.01 seconds, resisted for 12 years and had been established by Yoshihide Kiryu.
By the performance, Shimizu brought down the previous record held by the American Christian Miller and the Thai Puripol Boonson, who ran 100 meters in 10.06 seconds.
Beyond that, the successful time is absolutely impressive, because it exceeds the best result of Usain Bolt at the age of 20.
The Jamaican legend still has the absolute world record at 100 meters, but it had a personal record of 10.03 seconds every 20 years. Even so, it is worth mentioning that at that time of his career, Bolt focused on the 200 -meter sample.
“I was determined to run under 10 seconds before the final. I am happy that I set a record for high school. I would like to have a chance to feel the taste of success, if I manage to get there (no world),” Japanese said, immediately after the very good result.
The World Athletics Championships are to take place in Tokyo in September. The time obtained by Shimizu has exceeded the qualification scale for this event.
