CURRENT SURVEY: GOLD and PNL are falling, PSD continues to show small signs of growth

However, AUR recorded a small loss compared to January of this year, while PSD is recovering, according to a survey conducted by the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology – CURS.

  • The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,517 adults, between March 23 and 27. Data collection method – CATI.
  • The margin of error is ±2.5% at a 95% confidence level.

AUR would get 33% of the votes if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, followed by PSD with 24% and PNL with 16%, according to the CURS survey.

On the next places in terms of the intention to vote in parliament are USR with 9%, UDMR – 5%, SOS Romania – 4%. Young People's Party – 3%. Other parties gather together 6%.

Compared to the CURS survey in January and December, AUR shows a slight decrease. Basically, in December 2025 and January 2026, AUR was quoted with 35% of the votes.

At the same time, PSD is now up one percent from January (23%) and two percent from December 2025 (22%), while PNL is down two percent from January, when it was quoted at 18%, and three percent from December 2025 (19%).

The USR dropped by one percentage point from 10% in January and returned to the December 2025 score of 9%.

What the data of another survey shows

A survey carried out by INSCOP between March 2-6, 2026 gave AUR a score of 38%, compared to 40.9% in January 2026. AUR was quoted at 38% in November 2025, 40% in October, 40.8% in September, 40.5% in June, 38.1% in May 2025.

On the 2nd place in the INSCOP survey in March was PSD, with 19.2%, followed by PNL with 14.5%, USR – 11.4%, UDMR – 4%.

“The INSCOP-Informat.ro barometer shows that AUR drops below the 40% threshold again, reaching 38%, down from the almost 41 percent at the beginning of the year. PSD and PNL are separated by 3-5 percentage points depending on the reporting basis – respondents who choose a party, respectively respondents who choose a party and are sure that they will go to vote, and PNL and USR are separated by 1-3 percentage points according to the same criteria. Analyzing the INSCOP data measured in the last 10 months, there is no clear trend of increase or decrease for any political party in Romania”, said the director of Inscop Research, Remus Ștefureac, in a statement accompanying the survey.
